Father’s Day hibachi catering at home
The problem with Father’s Day is that the gift is usually a cookout he ends up cooking. Book a chef and he gets the backyard, the steak and the show without touching a spatula.
Take the tongs away from him
Every June, half the men being celebrated spend the afternoon at their own grill. Hiring a private hibachi chef is the one version of the backyard cookout where he is a guest at it. The chef brings a professional flat-top, sets up on the patio or the driveway, and cooks the whole family in front of them — knife work, the onion volcano, the flaming stack. He sits down, watches somebody else handle the fire, and eats a filet cooked to the temperature he asked for.
Steak, and then better steak
Father’s Day skews toward the premium end of our menu. Every guest picks two proteins from steak, chicken, shrimp, salmon and tofu, and filet mignon and scallops are the upgrades most of these tables take; lobster tail is available at market price and a surf-and-turf plate is the most-ordered combination of the day. Each plate comes with hibachi fried rice, seasoned vegetables, salad and the house sauces. Beer and whiskey are yours to supply — we do not bring or serve alcohol.
An afternoon that suits a mixed group
Most Father’s Day bookings are 1pm to 5pm, which works for grandparents driving in and grandchildren who will not last late. The chef cooks in courses so plates keep landing as people arrive, and the whole visit is about 90 minutes from setup to a clean station. Children are $30 each and get the same show with a plain plate if they want one — chicken and hibachi fried rice, no spice, sauces on the side.
Book it three to four weeks out
The third Sunday in June is a solid but not desperate date — unlike Mother’s Day, afternoon slots are usually still available three weeks out. It does collide with graduation season, though, which is our busiest stretch of the year, so the same weekend can be tight for other reasons. Call (484) 978-8774 with a date and a rough headcount and we will confirm a chef.
What booking Father’s Day actually involves
Hibachi at home is the version where nobody drives, nobody waits for a table and nobody watches a clock. A backyard hibachi setup needs a level area roughly 10 by 10 feet with open air above the grill. This is mobile hibachi catering: the grill, the propane and the food all come on the truck. An in-home hibachi setup under a proper range hood is the fallback whenever the weather is against you. A hibachi party is a meal and a performance inside the same 90 minutes. A hibachi dinner runs about 90 minutes from the chef arriving to a clean station. If you are searching for hibachi catering near me, we publish a local page for 504 towns. A hibachi chef near you is usually closer than the map suggests. The hibachi show — onion volcano, flaming stack, shrimp toss, spatula drums — is included, never an upsell. Every date costs the same: $55 an adult, $30 a child, a $550 event minimum, $50 travel for the first 50 miles with tolls included. (484) 978-8774 reaches a person, not a queue.
